ZAMBESI @ MBFWA 2013 (MERCEDES BENZ FASHION WEEK AUSTRALIA)
Zambesi’s spring summer 13/14 was a collection of timeless, modern and directional pieces. The collection was inspired by a sense of freedom, but at the same time by the idea of restraint. This could be clearly seen through the soft silhouettes but at the same time very strong and structured. The collection graced down the runway in understated tones in optic white, blacks with the occasional pop of prints; most notably an in house design plaid that has been reworked in silk organza and cotton voile. The collection also showed a greater emphasis on denim, which is a wardrobe staple throughout every season. All in all the collection evaporated a mood of cool, confident and modern with a darker and more edgier aesthetic pushing the boundaries of spring/ summer fashion.
